These shorts are great. They don't dig in, they have enough room for the muscles AND fat on my thighs (I'm a size 33 with a 28 thigh). You may want to size up if your thighs have some fat on them like mine. The 32 was comfortable at the waist but dug in on the inside thigh in a way that wasn't flattering, though it felt fine. 33 fits great, though.
I absolutely love these shorts. I have been lifting for years and I always end up buying shorts too big that make me look fat, or shorts too small that make me look fat. All because I have thick thighs and a big butt (thank you squats)...but a smaller waist. It was a constant battle between buying shorts that fit my butt and thighs, or my waist. With the barbell shorts, they fit me everywhere!!! Only complaint is...they need more colors so I can have a dresser full!!
Most comfortable pair of shorts in my closet! Love them!
I've been doing crossfit for about 6 months, so I'm a relative noob in that regard. What I'm not new to is having ample quads, hammies, and glutes. It seems like no one gets the concept that not all folks have thin legs and thick waists. Also, some ladies want an inseam longer than an inch, while enjoying a slightly higher waist, for a tailored look. I feel like I've found my "forever" shorts in barbell apparel chino shorts. My only qualm is that while the stretch and lay of the material is spot on, it's a bit fuzzy/static-clingy and attracts people hair, animal fur, and any other dust in the vicinity. Not a huge deal if you have a lint roller, but it would be cool to have a somewhat smoother texture.
As far as sizing goes, I used the measurement chart to ensure I had the right size and the waist ended up still being a tad too big. Still a vast improvement from any other shorts I've tried, and I'm not complaining that these are a tad loose rather than too tight--just means I get to move down a size for my next order. :)
Amazing soft material, no gapping at the waist, unique blue that matches like a black.
Really appreciate the thigh measurement on size chart to get the fit right.
